Mark Rutherford is a real estate broker with Realty One of New Mexico, serving Albuquerque, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, Corrales, the North Valley, the UNM area, and surrounding communities throughout Central New Mexico. Licensed since 2015, Mark specializes in residential real estate and particularly enjoys working with ecologically minded buyers and sellers interested in homes with established landscaping, fruit trees, and other features that support a more sustainable lifestyle.
Having lived in Albuquerque for more than 30 years, Mark brings extensive firsthand knowledge of the area's neighborhoods, properties, and unique characteristics. His long connection to the community is especially valuable when helping clients explore established areas such as the North Valley, Los Ranchos, Corrales, and neighborhoods surrounding the University of New Mexico.
Education is a cornerstone of Mark's approach to real estate. He holds the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) / Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation and is a Certified Negotiator. He routinely completes significantly more continuing education than required for his real estate license, believing that staying informed about the industry allows him to provide better guidance and more knowledgeable representation to his clients.
Mark approaches each transaction as an opportunity to educate rather than simply facilitate a sale. He takes the time to help buyers and sellers understand their options, evaluate important details, and make informed decisions based on their individual priorities. His combination of local knowledge, continued professional education, and negotiation training provides clients with a thoughtful and well-informed approach to buying or selling a home.
Outside of real estate, Mark enjoys exploring New Mexico's deserts, canyons, and mountain trails with his wife and dogs. A daily yoga and meditation practice keeps him calm and focused. His appreciation for the outdoors and natural environment is also reflected in his interest in helping clients find homes and properties that complement the way they want to live.
